Draft for founder approval. Not yet in force.

Terms of sale

Effective from 27 August 2026.

1. Who we are

These terms apply to every order placed through this site. The seller is ClearZone Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17184387, with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. You can reach us at contact@clearzone.tech.

By placing an order you agree to these terms. Please read them. They set out what you are buying, when you will get it, and what you can do if something goes wrong. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under UK consumer law.

2. What you are buying

FocusField is a small hardware node that works with the ClearZone app to turn a room or a desk into a focus zone. Inside the zone your phone follows one setting, and you choose it in advance: block everything except the essentials, or block only the apps you name. In that second mode we also block any app your phone lists as a game, whether you named it or not; a game that does not identify itself as one is not caught automatically, and you can add it by hand. In both modes the dialler and the launcher stay available, so the phone still works as a phone. In the box: one FocusField, one USB-C cable, one printed quick-start guide. No mains plug.

FocusField is a self-discipline aid. It adds friction, not handcuffs. A determined user can disable it by turning off its Accessibility Service or uninstalling the app, and that is by design. It is not a security product, not a parental-control enforcement product, and not an anti-theft device, and we do not sell it as one.

The ClearZone app runs on Android 8.0 and up, and it is free. There is no account and no subscription. iOS app in development; Android available first. If you do not have an Android phone, FocusField will not work for you until the iOS app is released, and we do not promise a date for that.

The zone boundary is an estimate from signal strength, not a precise measurement. Break timings (five minutes on, twenty minutes cooldown) are fixed in firmware and cannot be changed.

3. Pre-orders

FocusField is sold on pre-order. Checkout is not open yet, so this site is not taking orders and is not collecting payment.

We have not set a dispatch date and we do not state one anywhere on this site. CE self declaration is in progress and is the gate for launch, so we will not publish a date we cannot keep. When orders open we will tell you, before you pay, when your order will be dispatched, and your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply in full from that point.

Your order is accepted when we send the order confirmation email. Until then we may decline an order, for example because of a pricing error or because the address is outside the UK.

4. Price and payment

The price is £39.99 including VAT. Verified students pay £29.99 including VAT by applying a single-use discount code issued after email verification. Delivery is £3.95 for a single unit and free on orders of two or more. Every charge is shown before you pay.

Payment is taken at the time of order through Shopify Checkout. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which may include Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We do not store your card details.

If we discover a pricing error after you have ordered we will contact you. You can then confirm the order at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave us. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.

You choose a delivery option at checkout. If the goods are returned to us because they could not be delivered, we will contact you to arrange redelivery, and we may charge the cost of a second delivery.

6. Your right to cancel (14 days)

Because you are buying at a distance, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving a reason.

The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone you nominate, receive the goods. You can also cancel at any time before the goods are dispatched.

To cancel, tell us in a clear statement, for example by email to contact@clearzone.tech. You can use the model cancellation form on our returns page, but you do not have to. To meet the deadline it is enough to send your cancellation before the 14 days expire.

If you cancel after receiving the goods, send them back to us within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling. You pay the cost of return postage. We will refund the price and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you sending proof of postage, whichever is earlier. We may reduce the refund if the goods have been handled beyond what is needed to check them.

7. Faulty goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you have the right to reject them for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. After 30 days, and for up to six months, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that fails, a refund. These rights are in addition to your right to cancel above.

If your FocusField is faulty, email contact@clearzone.tech with your order number and a description of the fault. We pay return postage for faulty goods.

8. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us exclude.

FocusField is a self-discipline aid. We are not responsible for time spent on a phone, for apps that were not blocked, or for any consequence of a user disabling or uninstalling the app.

9. General

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one shown on this site when you place your order.

This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has any rights under it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you have a complaint, email contact@clearzone.tech and we will try to resolve it. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform if it remains available to UK consumers.

Do something GREAT.
